"Top 5 Immunity Boosters"

                                               By: Dekesha Grannum

Winter is here, and cold & flu season right along with it. With new viruses to watch out for, finding ways to stay healthy is even more important than ever. Your immune system is the key...your body's natural defense.

Here are my top 5 natural ways to boost your immune system:

1.) Love Your Lemons ~ Adding fresh squeezed lemon juice to your water, tea or salad is an easy way to give your immune system a boost. They help by balancing the body's acid-alkaline levels. Not a big fan of the taste? Try using it when cooking, where less noticeable.

2.) Get Your ZZZZ's ~ You may have heard this before, and I will say it have to get enough sleep. Without enough sleep your body is running off balance. This weakens the immune system and makes you vulnerable to getting sick. Enough sleep is also key in stress relief as well.

3.) Drink Your Water ~ Getting enough water helps keep your body functioning the way it should. This will help keep your immune system strong.  It may also be your solution to headaches, since they can be caused by dehydration.

4.) Relax, Relax, Relax ~ Make time to relax your body, and do something you enjoy. Your body works hard and needs a release from the stress of the day. Your immune system is weakened when exposed to stress for long periods of time.

5.) Quit The Sweets ~ Taking in too much sugar prevents the immune system from being able to fight off bacteria in the body.
